Hbomberguy

[edit]

Considering that Tallarico has been radio silent since the release of the video, I think it's worth including the hbomberguy video on this article (which it already is). However, it doesn't have a citation. In this instance the only secondary source I could find was this article. I'd be appreciative if someone could find an article by a more established site. Delukiel (talk) 23:37, 13 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

People talk about this all the time on the talk page. It would appear what is usable, is already in the article. YouTubers aren't usable sources, especially on a WP:BLP, and only a handful of useful publications seemed to pick up the story, and most only covered it in vague terms. Which explains the current state of the article. Sergecross73 msg me 01:00, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Must've missed someone bring it up earlier. What you said makes sense. As far as YouTubers not being usable sources, that's why I'm not in favor of just adding the video as a source. Need something secondary.
What other publications picked up the story? This was the only one I could find. Delukiel (talk) 01:13, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
he did list his sources[1], maybe they can be used instead? 85.31.21.47 (talk) 12:53, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, there are sources later in the article—my IQ is just low. Delukiel (talk) 01:14, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. I'm just quick to answer because I've been fielding a lot of the same questions for the last year or two. Sergecross73 msg me 01:18, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The list of games Tallarico (supposedly) worked on

[edit]

I'm currently going through the list of games in this article, since recent events have cast doubt on what games Tallarico actually worked on. I'm primarily using the game manual to see whether Tallarico is credited, as secondary sources for many of these games are basically impossible to find or simply don't exist. I'm tagging claims not backed up by the game manual credits are "Verification failed", which I know isn't quite how that tag is supposed to be used, but I'll do that before removing games from the list. Cortador (talk) 22:25, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

To be quite honest, if verification fails I think we should be ok removing entries. I mean, most of these were added in 2020 by a random IP with no sources, so I don't feel the need to give him the benefit of the doubt. Alyo (chat·edits) 23:26, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Fair point. I'll remove them. Cortador (talk) 04:48, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Concern about “Oof” video etc

[edit]

I recently deleted content that I found contentious and not based on reliable sources. It’s about a highly critical YT video that hasn’t been widely reported on secondary sources. User “Cortador” restored it but I still have my reservations. Because I don’t want to edit war and because Cortador evidently has more experience than me, I’d like to discuss the issue before I edit further. I want to be sure we adhere to the guidelines re Biographies of Living Persons. Queldryk (talk) 11:49, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

per previous agreement that the sources were reliable, and wp:vgsources also agreeing that they're reliable, i think the info can be kept cogsan (nag me) (stalk me) 11:55, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think it should be kept as well (of course, otherwise I wouldn't have restored them). For me, the deciding factor is that we don't state that Tallarico made misleading claims, but that Brewis concluded that he did, which is a different thing. Cortador (talk) 12:02, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
