User talk:Redlentil
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions.
You might find these pages useful:
You can always experiment in the sandbox.
If you like, you can introduce yourself at the new user log, or write something about yourself on your user page.
One more thing: if you leave a note on any kind of discussion page it's always helpful to sign your post with four tildes (~~~~), which is automatically converted to your username and the date and time. Don't do this in articles themselves though as they are not 'owned' by any particular contributor.
If you have any questions, see help, leave a question at the help desk, or feel free to drop me a line on my talk page.
Thanks again and happy editing!

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Redlentil! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 326 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
- Carlinhos Brown - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Redlentil (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I seem to have fallen foul of a block on IP 95.145.130.0/24 by User:Kuru although I am logged in with my own username
Accept reason:
As you can see below, your account has been given IP block exemption, which effectively means that you are no longer blocked. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 22:18, 26 April 2019 (UTC)
- Although the IP range was blocked by Kuru, your inability to edit is due to Berean Hunter changing the block so that it affects logged-in editing as well as anonymous editing.
- Berean, Redlentil is an editor in good standing, with a history of constructive editing over a period of more than 14 years, and a fairly quick look at the editing history does not give me any obvious reason to think that the account is a sockpuppet. Is IP block exemption an acceptable possibility? The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 11:04, 26 April 2019 (UTC)
- Done Yes, JamesBWatson, that is a good suggestion.

IP block exempt
[edit]I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.
Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.
Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked (through the use of CheckUser) periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).
I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption.
— Berean Hunter (talk) 21:38, 26 April 2019 (UTC)
- This IP block exemption expires in one month which is beyond the expiration date for the block. You should be able to edit now and we're sorry for the inconvenience. As it turns out, this is the only account that wasn't the LTA to file for an unblock request during the hardblock and no anon requests at all. This is also the only unblocked account to have ever filed an unblock request in this range. Kuru may also find that interesting for collateral assessment in case the need arises to block it again but we'll hope that it doesn't come to that.

[edit]Disambiguation link notification for March 5
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited SS Athenia (1922), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Patrick Hamilton (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 12:12, 5 March 2020 (UTC)

Barbara Monk Feldman moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Barbara Monk Feldman, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. [edit]Hi Redlentil! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Peregrine Mission One that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. Redraiderengineer (talk) 10:21, 9 January 2024 (UTC)
