Hey eixo, thanks for wikifing the article I did on the San Joaquin Valley. Phil179 00:47, Dec 1, 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for your photo of the Bennington Battle Monument. - Redjar 13:19, 8 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Hi Eixo, just to let you know I have nominated these two images for deletion at WP:IFD, because I uploaded a replacement as Image:Divisions of the field.png. silsor 05:18, Apr 22, 2005 (UTC)

Also Image:Ordinaries.JPG, replacing it with Image:Ordinaries.png. silsor 06:08, Apr 22, 2005 (UTC)

Is that supposed to be a Template? RickK 08:35, May 5, 2005 (UTC)

I don't think infoboxes are supposed to be in the article namespace. RickK 18:27, May 5, 2005 (UTC)

It should be a Template. RickK 04:14, May 7, 2005 (UTC)

Infoboxes are not encyclopedia articles, and should therefore not be in the article space. RickK 07:39, May 7, 2005 (UTC)

It's on VfD. RickK 07:52, May 7, 2005 (UTC)

Regarding "Alfa Romeo 158": Someone other than I changed it to "159". I have no idea why they did it. I don't have a clue as to whether it should be moved. —Vespristiano 07:32, 8 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Wow

[edit]

I just wanted to say, your article on Medieval hunting is excellent - I can't believe it simply appeared that way in its very first edit, full of detail, images, and references. I'd say the very first edit was featured quality. You are a rare and gifted encyclopedia article writer — keep up the good work! Deco 04:29, 10 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This is in response to the message you left on my talk page:

Aight; I wasn't sure exactly how the images should go, thanks for fixing it.

As for the teacher, it seemed notable to those of use who were attending at the time, but I do see how others might not see it that way.

Bohdanec

[edit]

Thanks for copyedit on Bohdanec. I removed some hyperlinks you put on dates though - one was repeated and some didn't feel so relevant to be linked (my opinion is that not every year in sight should be turned into hyperlink as it decreases readability and doesn't help to distinguish important and unimportant dates). You're quite welcome on that. I can't take all the credit, though, as I simply combined two different pages on her (one was a typo'd name and all I did was redirect and move the info over to the correct name). --Mitsukai 12:42, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats, I took advantage of its PDness and applied it to the bottom of my user page. Great picture :D Redwolf24 (talk) 03:42, 21 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Eixo. I find it odd to see a colour photo tagged with {{PD-old}}, putting it in Category:Author died more than 100 years ago public domain images. Did the photographer die 100 years ago and come back after the development of colour photography to take the picture as a ghost ? :-) Were the colours digitally added recently ? I'm puzzled. Would you consider another image copyright tag for this photo that you've uploaded ? Thanks. -- PFHLai 13:02, 1 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Eixo. I've noticed this as well. I've listed it as "unknown license". You added it under "PD-old". That requires for the image of the work to be 100 years old. I believe you were thinking about PD-art. However, this only applies to two-dimensional works of art, and this one looks pretty much three dimensional to me. The short story is that the image currently has no proper copyright tag. If you know the correct one, please update it accordingly. Thanks. --Valentinian 09:35, 22 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Howdy there!

Do you work for Bergesen d.y. ASA? I just created an article on the Berge Stahl, can you give it the twice over? I see you also added the photo of the Bergeland. I emailed Bergesen asking them to contribute and license a photo of the Berge Stahl for use.

Thanks for uploading Image:Melk,_stift.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or ask for help at Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. Thank you. -- Carnildo 13:31, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

LMA's lead

[edit]

As of now, it doesn't reflect the article's breadth. For it only stick to the history par as the article will go into other sections like Religion, T&C, Sci&Tech and other. Maybe just remove a paragraph on history (or regroup) and add one about the other sections. Lincher 14:23, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations on a really stupid nomination

[edit]

Congratulations on your template nominations. That is probably the single stupidest set of nominations I have ever seen in four years on WP. Deleting them is a non-starter. As with all such templates they run along the side, so redesigning them as a bottom box is nonsensical and a non-runner. It is behaviour like yours with that nomination that ends up driving away good contributors in disgust. Users end up why bother staying when after doing months of work a user who contributes nothing in the area swans in, dumps work of a load of people and proposes two years work by a team of people for deletion, all because that user personally doesn't like it. You are certainly one to talk about assuming good faith. The categories in quetion serve an important purpose -- pointing out the lack of information that is commonly present in biographies. Insulting edit summaries like "come on!" are a pretty darn good indication of editor intent. I don't think it wise at all for me to scour the other language projects and guess at what is being said. Thank you for choosing a constructive edit the second time around and improving the article in question. Erechtheus 15:40, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
As I understand it, the resolution to the research issue you pose is the Place/Date/Year of birth unknown category. I didn't place the articles in question in that category because I wasn't convinced that the information is outside what is knowable. I had not looked into the matter. I know slaves often don't have such information, but some slaves do. The only discussion of the categories I am aware of is present in the categories. I'm relatively pleased with the way I have witnessed them working. In many cases, inclusion has spurred people watching the articles who know this information to include it in the article. If you'd like to initiate discussion on the categories, I'm sure that would be welcome. Erechtheus 16:37, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Andreas Arntzen, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Andreas Arntzen. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Last Orders.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Last Orders.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Helping out with the Unassessed Wikipedia Biographies

Seeing that you are an active member of the WikiBiography Project, I was wondering if you would help lend a hand in helping us clear out the amount of unassessed articles tagged with {{WPBiography}}. AfD nomination of Aasulv Olsen Bryggesaa

[edit]

I've nominated Aasulv Olsen Bryggesaa, an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Aasulv Olsen Bryggesaa satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Aasulv Olsen Bryggesaa and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Aasulv Olsen Bryggesaa during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. RJASE1 Talk 02:41, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Arthur Kelton

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Arthur Kelton, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. DES (talk) 00:01, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Template:Middle Ages Periodization requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 21:38, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Hallvard Bakke, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Hallvard Bakke is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Hallvard Bakke, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Image source problem with Image:Bayeux hawking.jpg

[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Bayeux hawking.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:07, 23 December 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (talk) 13:07, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for File:Bayeux hawking.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Bayeux hawking.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

AfD nomination of List of Norwegians

[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is List of Norwegians. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Norwegians. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Orphaned non-free image File:William Edington.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:William Edington.jpg. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
  • I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.

File permission problem with File:Bergeland.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Bergeland.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 17:46, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File:Hundred Years War family tree.PNG listed for deletion

[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Hundred Years War family tree.PNG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. A tag has been placed on File:Danse Carpeaux.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. A tag has been placed on File:Homosexuality King Edward II of England.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit]

This is to let you know that the Edward III of England article has been scheduled to be rerun as today's featured article for May 17, 2017. Please check the article needs no amendments. If you're interested in editing the main page text, you're welcome to do so at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/May 17, 2017, but note that a coordinator will trim the lead to around 1100 characters anyway, so you aren't obliged to do so. File source problem with File:Danse Carpeaux 1.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Danse Carpeaux 1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Prod notice

[edit]
Notice

The article Overmighty subject has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:DICDEF. A combination of two English words. A cursory google search indicates that these two terms do appear next to each other from time to time, but no where discusses this subject as a distinct subject separate from the plain meaning of the words. --Jayron32 15:09, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
