I looked around the apple pie with the crumbs on tope instead of the pastry layer is a PENNSYLVANIA Dutch Pie.

What makes an apple pie a Dutch apple pie? Are we sure a Dutch apple pie has a patry top? I found a bunch of recipes that call for a kind of crumble of sugar, lour and butter on top rather than a patry lyer or patry lattice. RJFJR18:46, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Apple pies are as common as households. Every (grand)mother seems to have her own recipy. Of course there are (regional) simularities. The pie in the picture and the description in the article are very simular to the apple pies we know in Holland. I agree. Merging this article is a good idea.
