[edit]For the uninformed, Berlusconi didn't explicitly say "La libertà di stampa non è un diritto assoluto", but "...Quel bavaglio che le è stato imposto da una stampa schierata con la sinistra e pregiudizialmente ostile al governo. Una stampa che disinforma, che non solo distorce la realtà, ma calpesta in modo sistematico il sacrosanto diritto dei cittadini alla privacy, invocando per sè la ‘libertà di stampa’ come se si trattasse di un diritto assoluto. Ma in democrazia non esistono diritti assoluti, perchè ciascun diritto incontra sempre un limite negli altri diritti prioritariamente ed egualmente meritevoli di tutela." (see: [1], etc.).
